Lawn Care for Residential Bahia Lawns and Fire Ant Control

Middleton's Bahiagrass Fertilization and Fire Ant Control program is specifically designed to meet the nutritional needs of your Bahia lawn and to control fire ants. Our Bahiagrass program includes two applications of our custom blended, Lake Friendly™ (phosphorus free) dry fertilizer. It also includes treatment of fire ants with guaranteed control. Fire ant control is achieved utilizing a combination of fire ant control baits and subsurface injection treatment of the active fire ant mounds.

Our Bahiagrass program is designed to provide your turf with the right amount of fertilizer to maintain proper health. Although fertilizer in addition to our applications may make the lawn greener, it is not beneficial to the long-term health of your lawn. Our Bahiagrass program does not include treatment for lawn damaging insects or weeds. These problems will rarely become an issue if the turf is being cared for in a manner suited for Bahiagrass.

Bahiagrass does not perform well as an intently cultivated turf grass. Bahiagrass can be maintained to provide a light green ground cover that prevents soil erosion and is relatively attractive. However, if a lush, thick, green, carpet of grass is desired, resodding with a St. Augustine variety and purchasing our TLCx6 Lawn Care program would be the best route to follow.
